Begin with You

Begin with yourself.

In today's high-performing, dynamic world, more and more people are setting higher personal and professional goals.

As a result, people seek out means to achieve their ideals, and the quest for such in the outside world becomes a constant.

However, one of the most crucial things to remember is that it all begins with... you.

The Mind's Eye

We humans are fortunate to possess what looks to be the most complicated brain in the universe.

This is an organ that helps you piece together a logical image of the world using your senses.

In essence, the brain operates on a few different brainwave frequencies that change throughout the day and are responsible for different mental states.

Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta are the four brainwave frequencies.

Beta is your regular wake state, in which you are fully aware of your surroundings.

Low, medium, and high beta frequencies are further classified into low, medium, and high beta frequencies, which scale based on the level of stress.

Consider low and medium beta frequencies to be the mild tension you experience in various social situations, and high beta frequencies to be full-on stress (i.e a dog attacks you on the street).

Alpha, on the other hand, is a more relaxed state in which you focus some of your attention on your internal environment.

This is a state in which you can create new ideas, thoughts, and visions, as well as link seemingly unrelated events.

Consider alpha to be your daydreaming, creative frame of mind.

Theta is a deeper stage of relaxation in which your focus is mostly on your inner world.

Consider this a deep meditation state that straddles the line between consciousness and unconsciousness.

Finally, delta is a profound sleep state in which you are not fully awake.

These brainwave frequencies represent your deepest state of healing, when your brain integrates sensory information and restores body function.

As you fall off to sleep, your brain waves drop down to alpha, theta, and finally delta while you're deep asleep, which is synced with the Earth's day-night cycle.

In contrast, when sunshine strikes your eyes, it sends a signal to your brain that it's time to get up, and the frequencies rise through theta, alpha, and beta.

What is the significance of this?

If you've ever attempted to change something about yourself, you know how difficult it can be.

And the truth is, it's difficult because you don't know how to do it or when to do it.

You must realize that in order to modify otherwise strongly imprinted emotions, attitudes, and behaviors, you must be in a certain state of mind.

Hint: At alpha and theta frequencies, you can achieve that frame of mind.

Take note of the negative aspects.

Fortunately, we are humans with conscious control over our bodies, which means that behavioral and emotional changes can be caused.

This requires a certain level of self-awareness, in which you become aware of any negative aspects of your personality and environment.

Consider this: If something is physically, emotionally, or spiritually depleting you, get rid of it!

Because if you don't, those things will have a major impact on your life.

You must effectively catch yourself in the act of developing that negative trait/habit/reaction/thought/emotion and simply admit it.

Later, you can think about those acknowledgments and tell yourself that you're going to alter it.

Conclusion

You can quickly produce enormous changes in your ability to actualize any objective or picture in your mind by understanding your brain, its patterns, and modes of functioning.

This will ultimately benefit your personal development and allow you to follow a smooth and joyful path through life.

All you have to do is keep in mind that it all begins in your head.

It all begins with you!
